Tejas Yoga - Ashtanga in Houston
In Sanskrit,"Tejas", is the fire of transmutation.Prana, the life force, produces Tejas.Prana fans the flames of Tejas.Tejas is the kinetic force, which results when prana is utilized.Tejas can be translated as effulgence, brilliance.
On the other side of this pun,in spanish, Texas, is Tejas.Though the two words are pronounced differently in their native languages, the name stuck with me.Houston is a hot, sunny place and Ashtanga yoga is a fiery, flowing practice.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Ashtanga is a sweaty, energetic kind of yoga, more suited to those people that find absorption in motion easier than meditation in stillness.Ashtanga bestows on the practitioner a plethora of health benefits and a way to begin accessing more facets of yoga like breath and senses control,
attention,absorption and eventually liberation.
